New artwork for the holidays and for the new year. Come visit us at Taos Pueblo or the art lab
Recent visitors to our stand under the drying racks on the north side of the Pueblo have been very impressed with the corn we make. Come visit us! We are out most warm and sunny days.
“Being from Indiana, I thought I knew corn. It’s our pride, our legacy-but this? This is next level. I’ve never tasted anything like it. A great way to enhance a visit to the Taos Pueblo. Tarynce is a very welcoming host, and he makes a mean ear of local corn. Definitely stop in.” – Phil W from Indianapolis
“This is the best corn that I’ve ever had, and I lived in Iowa!” – Joe from Upstate, New York
“Yum, yum, yummy that was amazing!” – Linda from San Antonio
“Subtlety, a sensory journey of subtleties in the mouth. Fantastic, delicious, it was excellent. Spectacular.” Elissa Paskin from Greenwich Village, Manhattan
Thank You Creator For The sacred clay we harvested and processed by hand with the help from our dedicated mentors.
This is important for us because this is the way our ancestors harvested this clay for bean pots and other cooking items. It is important we teach the youth how to preserve language culture heritage and tradition this process is important so we do not forget our old ways and how to respectfully harvest clay. It is a sacred location this was the same area our grandparents and great grandparents and ones that came before harvested clay. Before our time this land was used and taken care of and we continue to take care of this land for our grandchildren to come and learn and enjoy this land is sacred to our people.
Sincerely,
aspen song kids
We had a fun time going to the forest to respectfully harvest clay in reciprocity and to give thanks for this gift from mother earth. Then a few days later, we processed the clay to get ready to make some pottery. Next up, we are excited to share the clay with our grandmother who has lots of experience with pottery! We have been making some creations so far available at our stand on the northside under the drying racks.
We had an amazing time harvesting beans, corn and squash!
